My thesis was on antiquated technology. some of the topics were on the change in music formats, media formats, and retro video games. the book is designed around the concept and elements of retro video games, having the reader search for the next chapter using challenges and powerups they found along the way.
This is my exhibition booklet for a skate art and skateboard deck art exhibition. The cover is actual grip tape and it comes in a plastic sleeve to protect the things around it and when skateboard decks are in skate shops they are often sealed with plastic. The book features art and skateboard deck art of various artists featured in the book.
Process book of my thesis projects. The concept of the book is based off of a VHS tape and how you would rewind the tape to show events.
A Brochure for the Rutgers Pre-College Arts Program, as well as a web banner, instagram post, and poster. The program was for high school students to take art classes in the a 8 week program in the spring. The design consist of versus shapes you would find in those classes.
We listened to the song enjoy the silence by depeche mode and then had to make a poster about what we thought the meaning was, but we were also assigned a partner who would also be contributing to the poster but we were not allowed to tell each other what the other person did. We would just edit it and send it off for them to then make an edit to. This is the over the course of 2 weeks trading the poster back and forth.
Space Crisis X is video game I coded and designed for my thesis. It uses the idea of how retro video games have better concepts then some current gen video games. It pokes fun at what video games were and what they are now. As well as making the game, I also designed a box, manual, poster, and cartridge for it to give to the overall feel of a early video game.
The Nostalgia soundscape is a album that is sounds of early technology. The sound of a floppy disk being used, the sounds a Nintendo light guns makes, or the start up of an old program. It is to give people a reminder at once was. The design of the package, manual, and CD are based off of ascii art that would be typically made with a dot matric printer.
We watched the movie HER and had to analyze certain elements about the movie. I analyzed the idea of escapism from the movie. We then had to make book covers based on what we analyzed from the movie. Since I analyzed escapism, my idea was to escape the idea of the front cover and back cover being were the design is, and instead they are on the flaps of the book.

The theme of this poster is about people who often don't care about voting, so they think it just doesn't matter. Then it tells them that through negative perspective will equal a negative outcome, and either way it won't be good.
